With only a small handfull of fixtures this weekend due to the
snow,
most of the bg guns will have been wishing that their games had been
called off too after a pretty dissaterous weekend of soccer for the big
guns. Manchester United failed to recover from their home loss to Leeds
last week as they were held to a draw at Birmingham. Arsenal could only
manage the same as they played a resiliant Everton team who also held
them to a draw. Leeds United could not find the form either that made
them legends last week against the champions and a return to League One
soccer against Wycombe Wanderers resulted in yet another draw. |

Leeds United hero turned rebel Jermaine Beckford has requested that he gets a transfer from Elland Road as soon as possible. Beckford, who will go down in Leeds United folk law history for scoring the goal that dumped Manchester United out of the FA Cup recently has been stalling on contract talks for some time, however the want away striker has now demanded his immediate release from his club and contract by requesting that he is allowed to leave the club. Beckford who was brought in from a non league outfit is expected to leave Leeds during the transfer window but Leeds boss Simon Grayson is holding out for decent money, "We dont to sell but money talks" said Grayson, who also added "Jermaine's performance against the champions on sunday has already increased his value, if we dont get what we require then he goes nowhere.". With Leeds already looking very comfortable for promotion to the championship, it is possible should the Beckford sale not be completed that Grayson could simply ditch his star striker into the reserves to see out the remaining few months on his contract. Should Beckford not sign or be sold he will be able to walk away freely from Elland Road in the summer.
Leeds United gave
their fans
another entertaining display of football in league one, this time it
was Stockport United who fell victims to the might of Leeds despite
taking the lead in the match. Manchester United are Leeds next
opponents in a clash that sees Leeds travel to Old Trafford to face
their arch rivals Man United. Sunday's FA Cup clash is certainly the
highlight of the season for Leeds so far and they couldn't come into
the game in better shape after starting and maintaining brilliant form
so far this season. Manchester United themselves in decent form but
find themselves in a difficult title battle this year, and have looked
very exposed at times, especially with the absence of key players. We
have also seen what a side like Burnley can do to Manchester United and
Leeds as underdogs must even believe they stand a fair chance of
winning the tie. |

Manchester United make
the 80 mile trip down the M62
today as they face
Hull City in the Premiership. Manchester United need to come away with
all 3 points today if they are to keep pressure on league leaders
Chelsea but Phill Brown's Hull City are not going to make life easy for
the champions. Hull who have slipped back down into the relagation zone
after a shakey start to the season will be preparing for one of their
biggest games of the season at the Kingston Stadium and manager Phill
Brown believes despite the clubs low league position, Hull can atleast
take a point from this game. "We will be playing to beat Manchester
United but if we only a manage a draw with the champions then that is
something I would also be quite hapy with considering." The match kicks
off at 16:00, Sky Sports 1 |

Arsenal's
Arsense Wenger was
left fuming last night after what should have been an easy three points
nearly turned into embarrasment for the London ttle chasers. Arsenal
travelled to the North West to play Burnley at Tuf Moor, a match which
should have been a simple affair for the Gunners but that was not to
be. Burnley who have already beaton champions Manchester United at Turf
Moor this season, looked like they were going down to Arsenal after
Fabregast knocked Arsenal ahead inside the first 10 minutes, but
Burnley battled back and quickly adapted to Arsenals style of play.
Burnley pushed their way into the game and managed to equalise twenty
minutes later through a spot kick penatly scored by Alexander. Burnley
continued to battle on with the Gunners and for the remainder of the
match outplayed Arsenal all over the pitch. Wenger was left
dissapointed as these type of games are the ones his side must be
winning if they are to be taken seriously in the Premiership title race. |

Manchester United tightened the gap
on Premiership leaders Chelsea
after beating Wolves
3-0 at Old Trafford in the English
Premiership.
Goals from Vidic, Valencia and a Penalty scored by Wayne Rooney
was enough to send Wolves back to the midlands to reflect on the
defeat. Wolves offered very little in terms of quality and allowed
United to play their attacking style to its full potential. Leeds United knocked
two
goals past Accrington Stanley to end their decent run in the Johnstones Paint
Northern semis. Carlisle also took full advantage of a lack lustered
Bradford City who looked diabolical in their match and also exited the
competition in a 3-0 defeat.

Tuesday
evening see's quite a few soccer fixtures accross Great Britain
including a good card of premiership fixtures, it is also the Northern
and Southern regional semi finals of the Johnstones Paint Trophey where
8 teams remain in contention for the final which will be held at
Wembley. Tonights Northern fixtures are between Leeds United and Accrington Stanley which
will
be held at Elland Road, Carlisle also
play host to Bradford City
in their semi final match while in the
Southern sphere of the competition Southampton
play Norwich at The Dell
and Milton Keynes Dons travel to Hereford for which could be the
biggest game of Herefords season so far. Accrington Stanley, made
famous from the milk advert from the early nineteen nighties have
climbed several leagues over the last decade and find themselfs in a
comfortable mid table position in the Football League
Division Two,
however they must believe they have the worst draw of the competition
so far as they are sent to Elland Road tonight to face what could be a
mighty drumming from high flying Leeds
United. Bradford are also up
against it in their match with North West super minows Carlisle
United. |

Engish Premiership Strugglers Hull
City
face Blackburn on Saturday in a tie which could see Hull City leapfrog
Blackburn Rovers into a mid table position should they have what it
takes to overturn Rovers. Hull Manager Phill Brown, who is already
underfire for Hull's scarey league position has responded quite well of
late and managed to claw his side outside of the relegation zone.
However, City will have to up their performances yet again as they meet
an experienced Blackburn Rovers side that will be looking at ths
fixture with an expectation to collect all three points.

Leeds United earned
themselves a third round FA Cup tie in January with Manchester United
at Old Trafford. Leeds played host to Kettering Town at Elland Road in
a game where despite Leeds Uniteds early and constant domination of the
match for the first hour, only a Luchiano Becchio goal seperated the
two sides. On the balance of play Leeds should have been five or six
goals up had it not been for the sensational performance of Kettering
Town's veteran goalkeeper and player manager Lee Harpour. The Ketering
Boss pulled of a string of world class saves to constantly deny the
likes of Beckford, Killkenny and Robert Snodgrass from firing Leeds
further ahead. Kettering finally started to get grips with the game
after the hour mark and slowly made their pressence felt. Kettering
were rewarded with a historical equaliser on 62 minutes and managed to
find the courage to fend off Leeds for the remainder of the 90. With
the match in extra time, Leeds then unleashed their mighty firepower
and four goals in eleven minutes from Grella(2), Kandoll and Beckford
was enough to sink brave Kettering. Leeds now have the challange of
playing the current Premiership champions Manchester United in January
in a clash which comes highly anticipated for both clubs alike. |

Leeds United are back in
action yet again this evening as they face a Kettering Town side from
the lower leagues who have already taken out higher opposition and
forced this replay at Elland Road. Leeds failed to beat Kettering a
little over a week ago at a packed out Rockingham Road and now the
minows have what is essentially 'the game of their life' in this FA Cup
2nd round replay match. Simon Greyson's Leeds should be looking to hit
Kettering hard and fast and stamp out any intesions of a giant killing
infront of the home crowd. A third round tie with Premiership Champions
Manchester United is the prize for which ever team wins this fixture, a
fixture which could make either of these clubs up their game. While
Leeds have not had the chance to play their arch rivals Manchester
United of late because of the divisional differences and for Kettering
such a fixture would simply be one of the clubs most historical
fixtures to date. |

Leeds United manager
Simon
Greyson was left fuming after his side took the lead twice in a game
that saw Huddersfield Town scrap out a draw at Elland Road. Robert
Snodgrass bagged the first goal for United in the first few minutes of
play in the great Yorkshire derby but the goal was canceled out when a
Huddersfield equalizer landed just after half time on 48 minutes. Leeds
again lifted their game and crafted another great goal from
substitution Max Gradel. However Huddersfield Town, who to be fair then
showed they were capable of playing some quality looking football got
rewarded for their efforts on 78 minutes when a strike from Rhodes left
Leeds keeper Casper Ankergan picking the ball out of his net for a
second time. With 38,000 fans packed inside Elland Road, the Yorkshire
Derby ended all square and would have certainly left Lee Clarks
Huddersfield Town with the happier set of supporters. Simon Greyson is
thought to be disappointed in his Leeds United side losing the lead on
two occasions in a game which could have cemented Leeds position
further at the top of the League One. |

Fulham played well
and gave the Bulgarian super club CSKA
Sofia
a lesson in how to play football in England. CSKA, who have decades
worth of experience playing in the UEFA Cup have found themselfs out of
sorts in the group failing to win any of their games against group
rivals Roma, Basel and Fulham.
Fulham needed a win to maintain any kind of hope towards gaining
qualification. Gera scored the only goal for Fulham in a game that
could have quite easily been a Fulham goalfest as the London club came
close on multiple occassions. CSKA who themselfs were fully dominated
by Fulham throughout, could have settled the tie with a late strike
which was scrambbled clear off the line by substitute Damien Duff. The
Cottages now need results to go their way and they must win their final
game when they face FC Basel away from home next Wednesday night. |

Manchester City
raised their
game enough to gun down premiership title chasers Arsenal in the
Carling Cup quater final match in Manchester. The City of Manchester
stadium was the venue for the clash in a match were Arsenal started
much the better of the two teams going close with an early shot but
failed to find a way past the city keeper Shay Given. As the first half
progressed, Arsenal became more desparate and picked up two yellow
cards before the ref blew for half time. The second half saw City turn
the screw on the london club and goals from Carlos Tevez, Wright
Phillips and Weiss in a brilliant second half display of football to
the enjoyment of the fans. |

Premiership Football clubs in
England have released the latest
figures as required by the FA disclossing the amount that they have
paid out to players agents. A total of 70.6 million quid has been
splashed out on agents just this season alone. Manchester City have
settled the biggest agents bills with costs rising above 12.5 Million
pounds, this also reflects city's big spending in the transfer market
and overwhelming spending that has seen them capture players totalling
over 90 million pounds. Chelsea are the second highest paying club who
have paid agents just short of 10 million. Suprisingly, reigning
champions Manchester United have paid only 1.4 million pounds which has
seen teams such as Hull, Bolton and Sunderland spending more money on
agents than the Champions.
A spokesperson for the FA said: "We are pleased
that, through these new requirements, clubs are bringing greater
transparency to the domestic transfer market.
"For the first
time, there will be a game-wide picture of the level of spending on
agents. The leagues and other key stakeholders have been fully
supportive, following the example set by the Football League with its
publication of Agents' Fees over the last few years." |

Leeds United
escaped a another FA Cup embarrasment to non league Kettering Town at
Rockingham Road in Sunday's FA Cup second round match. Leeds who were
dumped out the cup last year to non league side Histon were up against
it again as Kettering Town managed to fend off Leeds who although
controlling the game simply could not find any accuarcy in the final
ball. Kettering took confidence from the goalless first half and came
out second half dominating. Kettering started well and stabbed away at
the League One leaders untill final grabbing a goal through Ian Roper
who climbed to head past Casper Ankergan as the Leeds goalkeeper
collided with his own defender. Leeds then slowly turned the screw on
Kettering and their persistance payed of when finally Jemaine Beckford
got on the end of a pacey pass from Robert Snodgrass and with only 12
minutes remaining Leeds managed to save face slightly. Kettering
certainly earned the replay at Elland Road in a few week but will be
bitterly dissapointed and unfortunate not to have recorded a famous
victory against Leeds today. The
winner of the tie will face Manchester United in January. |

Its
the second round of the FA Cup
this weekend and there are some great
games to look forward to. Leeds United
come to our television screens once again as they take on Kettering on
Sunday, a game which is due to be televised by a terestrial
broadcaster. Saturday's action includes Staines Town who will have to raise
their game dramatically if they are to twart a Millwall side that pose to end their
cup dreams,Northwich Victoria
will be hoping they can survive a thumping from Lincoln City and Burton Albion will have to play
their socks off if they want to find anything from a very testing game
at Gillingham. |

English Premiership Champions Manchester
United
lost
against
turkish side Beshiktas at Old Trafford Wednesday
evening in a game that the champions will be hoping to forget.
Manchester United, who had already qualified for the next round of the
UEFA Champions League played host to Turkish side Beshiktas. Alex
Ferguesson sent out a relativley unkown and inexperienced side to face
the turks but ended up with egg on his face as they failed to respond
to a superb strike from Izmailov who hit a sweet and unopposed ball
past Ben Foster on 20 minutes. Old Trafford was silenced except for the
few thousand Turkish who rightly celebrated for the remainder of the
match. Owen and Carrick where sent on to boast United late in the
second half but Beshiktas had already shut up shop and were determined
to hold on to this trophey victory, a result that will surely go down
as one of their greatest in the turkish sides illustrious history. |

Ryan Babel is
reported to be
ready to quit Liverpool unless he is guaranteed some first team action.
The Dutch international is said to be currently unhappy at the Anfield
club and the lack of regular first team football could be enough to
make Ryan snap. Liverpool, who themselves have been under immense
pressure to start winning more games and make any real challenge for
the title have already been reported to be ready to crack at the seems
which in turn could see an exit of both the manager and top stars at
Liverpool in an attempt to turn about the fortunes at the club. Babel
is demanding regular football, a claim which is sure to only antaganise
Benitez further and could result in seeing the Dutch star finding the
door from Anfield in January. |

Robert Snodgrass fired
Leeds
United
a
further
step closer towards the Championship as Leeds United
mastered another convining victory this time against inform Brighton.
The Whites made their way down to the south coast for Saturdays League
One clash to face a Brighton side that have won their last two games by
playing some smart football. Snodgrass grabbed his strike on 37 minutes
shortly followed up by that man Beckford again. Australian Niel
Kilkenny also got on the score sheet in the dying minutes of the match.
Brighton could not stop a Leeds United train that is threatening to
steam its way to victory in League One as three goal United pushed
themselves 6 points clear of Charlton and United still have a game in
hand. Champs Hammer Toffees.
Manchester United looked sharp against Everton in the Premiership
match at Old Trafford and goals from Valencia, Carrick and Fletcher saw
the champions keeping up the pressure on title chashing Chelsea who
also won by four goals against Wolves to extend their stay at the top
of the Premiership |

Thierry Henry belives
France still deserve their qualification to the World Cup Finals
despite a blatent hand ball that led to a William Gallas goal for
France against the Republic of Ireland. The former Arsenal and French
star
Henry can be seen handling the ball as clear as day in the second leg
qualifier in France. Henry has even admitted that he was clearly in the
wrong regarding the hand ball but the referees decision to chose not to
have seen the incident allowed play to continue as Henry steered the
ball in to the path of a perfectly positioned William Gallas who made
no hesitation of striking the ball home. "I would have prefered it not
to have been like this, but if you ask me did we steal the match, No,
we deserved to win." Explains Henry. A fuming Republic of Ireland have
already sent an offical letter of complaint to FIFA and asked that the
match be replayed in the name of fairness. A plea which FIFA are
expected to officially reject later today as speculation suggests FIFA
would be clearly unwilling to consider any such talk of replaying the
match. |

Joe Anyinsah had a superb game
Tuesday night and helped his side
Carlisle United breeze through to the next round of the FA Cup after a
local encounter with rivals Morcambe. Carlisle made the short trip down
to the seaside town of Morcambe and provided both sets of supporters
with a quality game of football. Joe's strike came early and gave
Carlisle the crucial lead they needed and one that Morcambe could not
recover from. Morcambe did play somewhat defeated after the goal
failing to create much upfront but the seasiders rear guard managed to
hold off the somewhat prolific attacking attributes of Carlisle despite
conceding the game 0-1 they can still feel somewhat proud of their
performance considering Morcambe are positioned in the exact spot as
Carlisle in the division below them |

Liverpool's Raffa Benitez
could be fast approaching the end of his
reign as Liverpool boss after mounting speculation increased about the
sale of top players to reduce the clubs spiralling wage bill. The North
west club are reported to have debts in excess of 300 Million pounds
and simply have to make big financial changes. Underfire Benitez has
already gone on record to declair he will be willing to walk away from
Liverpool should the club order him to sell star players such as Torres
and Gerrard. It is also thought that the North American owners of
Liverpool FC are secretly planning to dump both Benitez, Torres and
Gerrard in a total top end clearout at Anfield. Liverpool have
struggled to make any real impact on the Premier League of late and
Liverpool fans are becomming increasingly stressed at the current
situation at Anfield. |

Unpopular Betting Markets
Could Expose Unknown Italian Cash
Cow. Two
goals in less than two minutes was enough to fire home another winning
football bet as Italian Serie B AC Ancona met Vicenza. High flying
Ancona looked fairly certain of victory according to our sports
analysis Gary Bowler who noted that the Odds of 2.2 on the Betting
Exchange were quite generous for such a nailed on fixture. Finding
discrepancies and wrongly priced selections in the betting markets is
one of the key elements to finding good value sports bets. Italian
Serie B betting markets have often seen us grab some really successfull
selections in the past, it almost seems like nobody gives a damm about
these teams, the odds and prices can be all over the place and rarely
reflects even the basic principles such as home advantage and league
status. This makes it pretty easy for finding oppertunities like the
Acona match and certainly a league that I always try and keep my eye on
for this reason alone. |

Nicholas Anelka gave
his country a 1 goal away advantage in Dublin,
Saturday night as The Irish take on France. Gary Bowler had set his
sights on the french to triumphe in Dublin and they duly delivered. The
Republic of Ireland battled hard against the former world champions but
failed to break the deadlock. France themselves look reasonably
comfortable on the ball but also failed to produce until Chelsea star
Nicholas Anelka gave his country a vital goal infront of a packed Irish
crowd and sending the home side with nothing short of a mountain to
climb. Ireland fought on relentlesly in an attempt to break down the
French rear gaurd. In the end they was certainly no luck for the Irish
who now face a mamouth task ahead of the return leg in france. |

Manchester United and England
star Wayne Rooney is today reported to
be
seeking out a new contract with Manchester United after speculation
increased that at least three big european clubs have the striker on
thier most wanted target list. Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona
have Rooney as a major transfer target and latest news from Italy also
suggests Milan are keen to capture his signature in a possible link up
with another Ex-Manchester and England co player David Beckham. Wayne
currently has 2 years remaining on his current Old trafford deal but is
now seeking a larger more lucrative and longer contract with the
English Premier League Champions. Manchester United, themselves looking
hurt and certainly not as threatening or prolific as last season since
lossing the services of Christiano Ronaldo could face losing Rooney
should they not decide to accept his demands. Although it is reported
that Wayne at this points wishes to pledge his future to Manchester
United, we all know that money does the talking at the end of the day
and this could see Rooney jetting off to warmer climates to apply his
trade, especially should Manchester United submit their title this year
to hot title contenders Chelsea or Arsenal. |

Starlays Sports
tipster Gary Bowler was right on the money yesterday
with the football bet as League One struggler's Southampton turned over
title chasing Charlton Athletic. The Saints entertained the home crowd
in the Johnstones Paint Southern Quarter final with some of the best
football they have displayed all season. Currently struggling in a
dangerous position in League One, the Saints looked a different class
here against a promotion chasing Charlton who look just a little out of
steam at the moment. Wayne Thomas sent Southampton to a deserved lead
after 34 minutes after a good spell of attacking football. Charlton
failed to respond and at times looked very poor on the ball in a game
that was dominated by the Saints. Richard Lambert looked to have had it
won for Southampton in the second half after finding the back of the
net after two rebounded shots in the box. Charlton's only consolation
was a goal in stoppage time by Leon McKenzie but this was not enough to
save Charlton's cup hopes. 12/11/09 |

Elland Road was the
venue for
last nights Johnstone Paint Northern quarter finals where local fishing
dock team Grimsby made the short distance to Leeds to take on a high
flying Leeds United team. An own goal by Grimsby put United in front
after a Leeds shot was bumbled into the Grimsby goal by Oliver
Lancashire on 40 minutes. Leeds and Australian midfield hit man Neil
Kilkenny sent Leeds two goals to the good on the 45 minute mark with a
remarkable strike that left Grimsby facing the impossible. Shortly in
to the second half and Leeds were pressuring yet again and broke
through on 55 minutes with Leeds top scorer Jemaine Beckford popping up
to add another goal to his seasonal tally. A consolation goal from
former Leeds United player Peter Sweeny was the only highlight of the
night for Grimbsy Town fans but was not enough to overpower the
momentum of a Leeds United side who seem capable of winning the trophy
this year. 11/11/09 |

Sheffield
United came from behind no less than twice to peg back a
unfortunate Barnsley who should have claimed all three points. A packed
out crowd at Oakwell saw a brilliant display of football from both
teams and Barnsley took the lead early in the second half with a wander
strike from De Silva. The blades battled back and equalised shortley
after as the ref pointed to the spot. Darias Henderson stepped up to
level the scores. Barnsley's Bogdanovic soon scrambled the home side
back in to the game with a scrappy effort but this was still not going
to be enough from United fighting back yet again. Sheffield United won
a second penalty and Henderson yet again stepped up to level the
scores. Some bad challenges and a keen eyed referee denied Barnsley
from triumphing in this thrilling Yorkshire Derby. 10/11/09 |

England and Chelsea captain
John Terry was the thorne in Manchester
United's latest attempt at reclaiming the top spot in the English
Premiership. Manchester United came to London hoping to collect all
three points and regain the stop spot in the league, unfortunatley it
wasn't to be. Chelsea improved on their already successfull home form
by keeping yet another clean sheet this time against the champions. In
the first half both teams battled hard in a somewhat uncontrolled and
poor game of football which contained very few real chances. On 15
minutes Valencia broke free into the box and was brought down by Terry
in what looked like a certain penalty, however the ref was having none
of it.After the break, Manchester United stepped up the pressure on the
home side but could not seem to find anything up front, then on 76
minutes against the run of play, Frank Lampard sent s dead ball accross
the Manchester United back line and who else but skipper John Terry was
there to climb high and head Chelsea a good to the good at Stamford
Bridge. Manchester United responded well but still could not find
anything up front with Rooney looking well handled by the Chelsea
defence. Chelsea now find themselves edging closer to the Premiership
Title with Fergi's boys playing catch-up. 9/11/09 |

Leeds United young captain
Johnny Howson sent his side towards
the next round of the FA Cup by firing Leeds in to the lead before the
end of the first half. United travelled the short distance over the
pennines to face Oldham Athletic yesterday in a game that saw the
League One leaders comfortably defeat league one rival team Oldham.
Howson netted the first for Leeds 36 minutes after Robert Snodgrass
broke through down the right flank and provide his captain with a
stunning cross. Howson's left foot drive was enough to send the
ball up and beyond the reach of the Oldham goal keeper to the tp right
of the net. Athletic had a fair
amount of possesion in the second half failed to show any real threat
to the Leeds defence. Jemaine Beckford was substituted five minutes
before the end of the match and replaced by USA star Grella who managed
to push the game beyond Oldham Athletic by netting Leeds Uniteds second
goal on the 90 minute mark. 8/11/09 |

Benfica inflicted even
more misery on merseysiders Everton last
night
as for the second time in just under two weeks, the toffees were made
to look daft by the Portugeuse giants. Benfica, who already inflicted
embarasment by hammering Everton 5-0 in portugal came in to the match
as second favorites according to the betting. However as happens so
much in football, the betting market prooving fairly insignificent as
from the word go there was only one team playing with the hunger to
take the game and that certainly was not the blues. It took just over
an hour of play before the deadlock was broken, and that man Saviola
popped up again to show the merseyside faithfull how not to defend as
he broke free past 3 Everton defenders before netting a low driven
shot. 13 minutes later Benfica fired themselves further into the game
with a goal from Cardozo on 76 minutes. Everton seemed unable to
respond and made a few clumpsy challenges in a vain attempt to regain
control of the game. Out of sorts Everton will certainly want to put
the whole Benfica experience firmly behind them surely. 6/11/09 |

Zavon Hines grabbed a
sensational goal deep into stoppage time to seal
all three points for Gianfranco Zola's West Ham United. The hammers
have failed to pick up full points since the opening day of the season
against newly prometed Wolves but a late goal in injury time from Hines
was enough to deny 10 man Aston Villa from going forth place in the
premiership last night. West Ham got nfront moments before the interval
through a penalty after Villa's Beye made a bad challenge in the box.
Noble stepped up and grabbed the lead for the hammers before a strike
from Young levelled things shortly after the interval. Villa found
themselves reduced to ten men towards full time as Beye was red carded
for another rash challenge. Late pressure from the hammers was enough
to swing the game as moments before the final whistle Zavon Hines got
on to the end of a West Ham attack that saw them clinch their first win
in months. 5/11/09 |

A penalty awarded to
Kettering Town on 90 minutes was enough to deny
Wrexham of the three points in a match they probably deserved to win.
Kettering Town played host to the north wales outfit Wrexham who have
been playing much below par so far this season. The homeside started
well with a goal just 5 minutes in to the match but Wrexham responded
well with a stunning equaliser from Ashley Westwood who hit a clean
strike on 22 minutes. Just before the break a crucial error by
the Kettering keeper saw him blunder the ball into the back of his own
net. Wrexham held on to the winning scoreline and looked like leaving
with all three points before the ref pointed to the spot on 90 minutes.
Jean Paul Marna stepped up to secure a point for Kettering and Wrexham
can count themselves as very unfortunate. 4/11/09 |

AC Milan have today
confirmed that ex Manchester United and
England super star David Beckham has put pen to paper on a deal to
secure his services for the rest of the season at the San Siro. Beckham
impressed whilst on load for the Italian giants last season and LA
Galaxy have accepted the 6 months loan deal which sees Beckham rejoin
Milan in January. Speculation is now mounting regarding Davids future
at his current MLS club LA Galaxy. Newcastle Unted took full
advantage in Monday evenings championship
clash with Sheffield United. The Brammel Lane men did not do enough to
stop the magpies bringing home all three points in what was a fairly
scrappy encounter in South Yorkshire. With nothing but poor play and
scrapy challenges in the first half,
Newcastle went ahead early in the second half when Chris Morgan managed
to get a toe to Ryan Taylor's long range shot. Kevin Blackwells
Sheffield United responded with late pressure but
could not stop Newcaste returning back to the top of the Championship.

under pressure Hull boss as seen his team win only 2 of the clubs 11
games in the Premiership this season and with already 7 defeats, Hull

Simon Greyson's Leeds United
turned out
another stunning display in
todays League One clash. Bradley Johnson opened the scoring for
leeds minutes before the end of what seemed a quiet first half followed
up a ravishing game of football in the second. The Elland Road men went
on to score a second as Gradel netted on 69 followed by that man again
Jemaine Beckford who simply cannot resist finding the back of the net
and did so on 79. Super substitute Tresor Kandol also made an impact
and concluded this game for Leeds United with just 6 minutes to go.
